Joshua Newell (Amateur)
Owned for over 3 years and regularly use my Beretta Silver Pigeon V. I purchased the gun off the back of a review and here I am doing the same after 3 years of use and approximately 4000 cartridges.
The gun is good looking; the remarkable wood and golden birds give this gun a distinguished appearance and I receive many positive comments from fellow shooters. Incessant reliability has made this my gun of choice for everyday use whatever the occasion. Silver Pigeons 1-5 use the same mechanisms and improve the grade of wood and quality of detailing as the number increases. V is the pinnacle of the 687 line.
The gun delivers Beretta reliability and a predictable experience. Function and aesthetics are great, this well balanced sporter does its job at the shooting grounds and can hold its own on a game shoot. The anosdised appearance coupled with the golden inlays differentiates the gun from the masses.
Silver Pigeon 5 weighs 8lb, it has 30in barrels, 76mm chambers and comes with an additional recoil pad for improved fit, lined ABS case and a full set of flush fitting Optima chokes. More variants are available 12/20 gauge etc.
If you want a reliable gun with excellent build quality, predictable shooting, looks good and is reasonably priced and holds its value then add this to your list.
I bought the gun used and in excellent condition for £2200 (bargain)
